Blacksmith B3 electric scooter is expected to be launched in India next year according to recent reports. In fact, the e-scooter, which will be the Chennai-based Blacksmith Electric’s second offering, is now also listed on the company’s official website. Blacksmith B3 is based on the Blacksmith B2 electric bike, which was teased earlier this year and will also be launched next year. This means both the B2 and B3 could be launched together in 2020.

Blacksmith B2 Electric Bike Teased
Even before Blacksmith Electric was officially formed, the team has been researching and developing several prototypes since 2003, with the first patent application filed in 2002. The company says it’s the only electric mobility company in India to have a patent for battery swap technology, with patent no, 262461. With this system, the rider can exchange the depleted battery with a fully charged one in a battery station without any tools and in less time than refuelling of a conventional motorcycle with an internal combustion engine. Blacksmith Electric says the battery exchange station is completely safe and fireproof and can be adopted with existing fuel stations.

Chennai-based brand Blacksmith are all set to launch their new electric motorcycle in India. It will be called the Blacksmith B2. Riding range and charging won’t be a problem anymore as the Blacksmith B2 will feature battery swapping technology just like the new Revolt electric motorcycles.
